Community Investment

Our people are committed to making a meaningful difference to the communities they live and work in.

MinterEllison recognises the importance of corporate social responsibility and is committed to contributing to our community. In early 2024, we were awarded the “Caring Company Award” for the tenth consecutive year by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for our community involvement.

Everyone at MinterEllison is encouraged to donate to charities through MatchME, a programme that allows every donation made by employees to designated charities to be matched dollar-for-dollar by MinterEllison. For the year 2022/23, our Hong Kong office was proud to support:

  • Banyan Services Association
  • Crossroads Foundation
  • Hagar International
  • Hong Kong Student Aid Society
  • St. James' Settlement

ARCH Committee 2023

In December 2016 we launched our first Work Shadow Programme with St. James' Settlement, which allowed four secondary school students to gain real-life work experience working side by side with our partners, associates and support staff. We will continue to offer more work shadowing opportunities to students through St. James' Settlement and the Hong Kong Student Aid Society.

Since 2010 we have been inviting all students from the Fresh Fish Traders’ School in Tai Kok Tsui to take part in an annual Chinese New Year card design competition, where the winning design is used as our greeting card for clients. We also raise funds in an annual Food Drive as part of Fresh Fish Traders’ School Food Reward Programme which awards gift packages to students who do well academically.

In December 2019 we joined Sunshine Action in visiting the elderly at their homes in a public housing estate in Kwai Chung and bringing them fortune bags containing food, toiletries and other daily necessities.

Every year we organise fundraising activities in support of various charitable initiatives, such as the dress pink day for the Hong Kong Cancer Fund and “Movember” for the Movember Foundation.
